The Canopy Garden – Flower Show:
For the design of this show garden, (inspired by Robert Irwin in Los Angeles), Mo created an installation specifically tailored to make green spaces omnipresent throughout treeless inner city streets.
Fabricating an instant tree canopy using reclaimed rebar steel intertwined with vigorous climber plants, erected in raised concrete effect planters. The design pays homage to the city’s industrial past while symbolizing the city’s green future.
The main keys for this design were to rebalance the city center by simultaneously bringing back a healthy diversity of flora & fauna and improving urbanites’ lives.
Mo curated a selection of nectar and seed rich plants to attract pollinators and small birds to the raised beds. He thoughtfully positioned immersive experience benches floating inwards from the beds’ edges into the garden to give the visitors a sensory stimulating interaction with nature.
Mo’s design reimagines urban greening methods, instantly spreading exuberant yet compact retreats in the heart of the city.
